Cancer Research Map
The Pancreatic Cancer
Research Map is a collaborative project of the Pancreatic Cancer
Action Network, the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the Lustgarten
Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. The Research Map
is a web-based tool intended to “connect the dots” between all those
involved in pancreatic cancer research to speed the development
of national strategies and leverage resources for pancreatic cancer
research.
Visit the
Pancreatic
Cancer Research Map to learn more about ongoing pancreatic cancer
research, relevant funding opportunities, and investigators in the
field. Researchers are invited to register with the map.

Common Scientific Outline
Though many organizations throughout the world fund cancer research,
previously none have shared a common coding system to describe their
research projects, making it difficult on paper to compare or coordinate
their research. This is now possible through the use of a common
scientific outline. Under the leadership of the National Cancer
Institute (NCI) and the United States Army Medical Research and
Materiel Command, Congressional Directed Research Program (USAMRMC,
CDMRP), nine national and international cancer funding organizations
have adopted a standardized coding system--the Common Scientific
Outline (CSO). Organized around seven broad areas of scientific
interest in cancer research, these categories include: biology;
etiology; prevention; early detection, diagnosis, and prognosis;
treatment; cancer control, survivorship, and outcomes research;
and scientific model systems.

SPORE Grants
SPORE (Specialized Programs of Research Excellence) grants support
interdisciplinary teams of investigators who are dedicated to translational
research and focused on an organ specific human cancer.
